Halloween Projects (some gone awry)

So Jack wanted to be Elmo for Halloween, and I had this great/awful red sweater that looked just like Elmo fur.. so I frogged the whole thing and made this goofy Elmo hat..

Yes. Thats the best picture he would let me take. He has decided that when people point cameras at you, you should close your eyes and droop your face.

Then Veronica said she wanted to be a puppy (which later turned into a zombie puppy), so I did these..

And then I got all big-headed and tried to make a Cookie Monster hat..

..and that went horribly awry. Horribly, horribly badly awry.

Granny Square WIP

Just some simple grannie that I am putting together when my brain is busy doing other things.. I have a pile of these that will hopefully turn into a real-live blanket someday. I like the bright colors on the black..

A girly shelf redo

The girls' room needed girly-ing. We made due. We started with one of those cheapish wooden shelves that you buy from big box discount stores:

 

(This particular model came with girl-heads attached.)
(No, that's a lie.)

And ended up with a creation fit for princesses:
This has been a perfect addition to their girly bedroom - I used a vintage wrapping paper for the back (where you see the pink and yellow design) and Zero VOC paint for the rest. I did have to come back later and seal the paper a bit better, but I think it will hold up well - even under the abuse of an 8 and 9 year old!

Peace of Mind Comes in the Mail

Because everything is about my boobs now.

The results came back on Monday and SURPRISE! The ultrasound tech never even looked at or clicked a picture of anything on the left side.

They said the concern in the right side was a 5mm nodule in a lymph node with non-cancerous characteristics and ‘nothing to be concerned about’ unless it changes. I’m not sure what that means – I have would have no way of knowing if it changes since I never knew it was there to begin with..

Tomorrow morning at 9:30, I’ll start the whole thing over again at a different facility so as not to run into the same pleasant ultrasound tech as last time.. and my boobs have never been happier. No really.
